Dr. Mohammad Ghosheh and his wife
On Wednesday 6/3/2019, the researcher, Dr. Mohammad Ghosheh and his wife visited the library, donating his book "The Dome of the Rock" to the University Library, to be the third Birzeit University library in the world to receive this publication and the first locally, according to Dr. Ghosheh.
The library also acquired his new release, from the 2019 edition, the "Ensyclopedia Palestinnica" which lets Birzeit University Library to be the first local library to acquire such edition upon its release. The encyclopedia consists of 24 parts of 7000 pages, including 30,000 drawings, pictures, documents and a map of Palestine, and is considered "The largest academic work published by Palestine," as mentioned, we thank Dr. Ghosheh for his wonderful scientific production, and we wish him more creativity and progress to enrich science and research.
Schools visit
The university library also received students from several schools, including students of the Sisters of the Rosary School in Jerusalem on 2/3/2019 and the students of the male primary school of Sinjel on 7/3/2019 where they were received by the User Services Department, and informed them of the library services and its developments, then they were escorted to the computer lab to view the library services available on the e-library page, especially how to search for a book title or titles for a specific author or subject.
On 26/3/2019, the researcher Dr. Ruth Abu Rashid from the Faculty of Historical and Cultural Studies "Balad Kalam" palread the European Research Council project visited the library, and used it extensively for two days, especially the use of the press archive, ancient historical materials, and magazines Palestinian Parties journals. Abu Rashid praised the role of the university library in supporting scientific research, noting that most of the materials she obtained are not found in other academic research libraries, which indicates the important cultural heritage of Birzeit University.
Visitor from The British Library
On 25/6/2019, Daniel Lowe from the British Library visited the library and discussed with the Library Director about ways and frameworks for future cooperation, especially with regard to exchanging experiences, training, digitization and opportunities to benefit from their digital materials.
Ambassador Munjid Saleh visits the library
On the 28/9/2019, Ambassador Munjid Saleh visited the library and donated his book titled: “Carthage and other stories”.

On the 23/9/2019, a delegation from the Khadouri University Library / Tulkarm visited the library and discussed with the Library Director on ways and frameworks for future cooperation, and they were donated with a collection of books amounting to 100 titles.
Institute of Arts and the Arles Museum - France
On 20-12-2018, Mr. Veroniques and Mr. Patrick Blanc from the Institute of Arts and the Arles Museum in France visited the library, The User Services Department gave them a full explanation on the library and its services, in addition to an introductory tour of its various departments.

On 4/3/2018 a school and its students came to the library in order to provide them with some information related to preparing for a cultural competition.
The tour included the floor of the humanities and social sciences, and the floor of applied sciences, arts, engineering, and technology, which left a good impression among school students.
A delegation from Norway Visited the library
On April 20, 2016 Mr. Frode Baken the Director of Telemark University library and Mr. Eirik Gaare the IT Librarian of Akershus County Library visited the library and interviewed Mrs. Diana Sayej Naser the Library Director in regard to her achievements being active locally and worldwide in an attempt to publish them in the number one Norwegian library journal next fall to highlight the most popular librarians in Palestine.
A delegation from Khadoury University Library visited the library
29-1-2015: A Delegation from Khadoury University Library visited the library, reprsented by the library director Mr. Jamal Hamad and five library staff. The visit aimed to have a look at the most important achievements and developments and working procedures in all the main library sections especially electronic ones to gain and exchange of experiences
The main library hosted during the month of December 2013 Ms. Sophia Agucci, who worked as a volunteer in the Classification and Special Collections section on the books of the Archeology Library to benefit from her experiences and knowledge. The library administration thanks her initiative and wishes her success, and a simple farewell party was held for her in appreciation.
On Saturday, corresponding to 04/21/2012, the Director of the Institute and Archeology Library in Ephesus, Turkey, accompanied by Dr. Mahmoud Hawari from the Department of History and Archeology, visited the library and donated a set of books to the library.
One requirement of the library Award from UNESCO/IFAP (Information For All Program) is to prepare a step-by-step guide reflecting the library experience in using Linux Terminal Server (LTSP) to run the old computers in the library lab, and disseminate it locally.
The library has paid visits to all university libraries in the West Bank to market its experience with Open Source System, they were as follows:-

Main Library with international and local librarians and were introduced to the major library services and activities especially the e-resources. The presentation was offered by Mr.
Labib Eid/ Head of Information Services Department.

The Vice-President of the Government of the French Community and Minister of International Relations of Belgium, Ms. Marie-Dominique Simonet accompanied by the Belgian Consul General in Jerusalem, Mr. Leo Peeters, Director of Cabinet, Mr. Michael Weber and other officials, and Ms. Leila Shahid, Palestinian Ambassador in Belgium and the envoy of the Palestinian Authority (PA) to the European Commission in Brussels visited the library and were introduced by the Library Director and Head of Users' Services Department to the major library services and activities esp. in regard to Online Resources.
- Wednesday, 27/2/2008: Library Director, Head of Collection Development, AbdelMunim, and Nisreen have paid a visit to the Polytechnic University in Hebron to start the Gift and exchange program, as well as a visit to Dandees Bookstore to check the possible cooperation in the future..

Mr. Stephane Ipert the Director of the Center of the Book in Arles-France and a member of the Virtual Library project has visited the library on Thursday the 23rd of February 2006 to update the Library Director and the project committee on the result of the project and the future projects.

On September 27, 2006 the World Bank delegation headed by Mr. David Craig, the world Bank Director in the West Bank and the Gaza strip visited the WB Publications Unit at the library, and listened to a summery given by Mrs. Diana Sayej Naser, Director of the library, highlighting the importance of this unit and suggesting ways of achieving and developing it.

- August, 23,25/1999: Mr. Ray Lonsdale from the school of Library of Information Science in Aberystwyth - Wales, has visited BZU Library and met with the Director & the Vice President of Academic Affairs to discuss the possibility of introducing a library program/School in Palestine.
- Mrs. Cornelia Ropke, from Geothe Institute - Tel-Aviv, has visited the library and arranged for the Bookfair of October 1999.
- Mr. Terry Gavin, the Minisis System Director, from IDRC/Canada, visited Birzeit University Library and trained the library staff on using the new version of Minisis (version 8). This was from the 14th until the 29th of June 1999.
- Ms. Lucy Hayter, from the friends of BZU in Britain visited the Main Library on the 19th of May 1999. She met with the Library Director and discussed the future contribution of BZU friends to the library.
- Two German representatives from the publishing house of Springer-Verlag, Erika Neubert and Gertrand Griepke have visited BZU library on 4th of May 1999, and met with the Vice President of Planning, Presidents' assistant for International Relations and the Library Director, in order to help developing the collection, the staff & the electronic resources in BZU library.
- An Australian Professional Librarian has worked in the library as a volunteer, 20 hours a week in the different library departments for a duration of four months from February to June 1999.

- Monday 2 November, 1998: Ms. Patricia Doucette: a Canadian Professional Librarian, working as a volunteer at Al-Quds University,visited the Main Library and met with the Library Director & Heads of Departments and had a briefing about how things are functioning in the Library.
- Thursday 29 October, 1998: Ms. Lucy Hayter, Coordinator from Friends of Birzeit in the UK, visited the Main Library and met with the Library Director. Ms. Lucy has arranged several book donations to the University.
- Tuesday 27 October, 1998: Mr. Dermot Englefield, a Parliamentary Consultant visited the Main Library with Mrs. Liana Quaider, the Head Librarian of the Palestinian Legislative Council. The purpose of the visit was to acknowledge the technology applied in the library and the references available in the collection.
- Monday 12 October, 1998: Mr. Wim Van Der Putten / Area Sales Manager from Swets Company, visited the Library, and met with the Library Director,Head of Collection Division and Vice President of Academic Affairs and discussed the issue of Electronic Journals & Renewals of Periodicals for 1999.
- Two Librarians, Nancy Sack and Sibylle Mittelsdorf, from Northwestern University Library, U.S.A. visited the Library on Monday, September 21st, 1998.They met with the Library Director, Head of Collection Development Division and Head of Cataloging & Classification Division.
- Mr. Wim Van Der Putten / Area sales manager from Swets company has visited the library , and met with the library director and the head of collection department to follow up with the periodicals ' subscriptions. The meeting was on Wednesday , July the 1st ,1998.
- Ms. Karyn Pomerantz , a librarian and Public Health faculty member at the George Washington University , has visited the library and the Community Health Department on Monday the 29th of June 1998.
- Tom Johnsen from the University of Bergen / Norway has visited the University Library on Monday 4th of May , 1998 and met with Dr. Baker/Vice President of Academic Affairs , Mr. Marwan Tarazi / Director of computer Center and Mrs. Diana Sayej-Nasir / Library Director. They discussed basic issues concerning a proposed plan for applying high technology in the library in coordination with the Library of Bergen University.

Mrs. Sara Andeen / an American Library Association fellow has left Birzeit University back home on the 30th of April 1998 after spending a duration of 8 months in Palestine . Her major task was to assist Birzeit University Library in developing a plan for integrating electronic resources into its collection.
