LIBRARY MISSION

The main library of Birzeit University (BZU) is the intellectual heart of the university. Its mission is to provide access to information and research materials for all members of the University community as well as to the Palestinian community at large. As such, students from other universities or institutions as well as the general public can have access to the library with limited privileges. Guided tours to the library are provided at the beginning of each term. Tours cover the general use of the library and the location of materials. For more information on when tours are offered, or to schedule a tour by appointment, please contact the reference services staff at telephone extension 2406 or 2402.

The Main Library provides research information for the University community, but also plays a major role in providing reference services for the Palestinian community. Users and researchers from outside the university can benefit from this service in accordance with certain regulations. In addition, the library offers remote services by way of communication media such as the telephone, fax, e-mail, the Internet (via the BZU Library Web page) for users from Arab countries and throughout the world.
